IKWF Wrestling 9-14 year old 2021-2022 season
This year we will split the 5-8 year old group up into an Advanced/Competition group and a Beginner/Foundation group. Please sign your son/daughter up for the group you would like them to be on, however ultimately the coaches will decide who is in each group.
9-14 year old ADVANCED and BEGINNER TEAM
Former Montini Coach of 12 years, Tony Marti would head up the Advanced Class. Tony is a former state champion at Ridgewood High School, Wrestled at the University of Iowa, has personally coached over 50 state champions, 11 State Team Championships, and multiple World Champions. He knows what kind of work it takes to be a Wrestling competitor. With the combination of Wrestling Hall of Fame ND High School Wrestling Co- head Coach Skully and Hall of Fame Co- Head Coach Augie Genovesi (which no introductions are needed!) and their combined 60+ years of wrestling experience, 500 + dual match wins and countless successful Wrestlers both on and off the mat, Tony will be a great addition to an already outstanding coaching staff.
The 9-14 year old group will have both Advanced, Beginner, and "part time" wrestlers,
We understand at this age kids are playing basketball, hockey, baseball and aren't sure if they're ready to commit to wrestling. That is ok. We have different options below for different interest levels.
ADVANCED- $400** for boys/girls with wrestling as there primary winter sport that want to compete and want to become state qualifiers and state placers/champions
BEGINNER- $400** For kids willing to put the work in and learn, that want to become good at wrestling and eventually get to the advanced team
"PART TIME" - $200 - For Kids that have a different primary sport like basketball, hockey, etc. that will make practice as often as possible when the other primary sport does not conflict. Keep in mind progress will be limited but this introduction to the sport will give a foundation to build on for high school

(The IKWF Regional tournament is Feb 26th, winners will go on to Sectionals Mar 5th, then State Mar 10th-12th. All wrestlers are encouraged to practice this week regardless of advancement)
** IKWF membership ($45) and tournament fees ($20 each) are not included . Singlets, headgear, and Team T-shirt are included.
Sweatshirts, shorts, etc are available for additional purchase.
